Tears of Love, and tears of grief
Tears to cleanse and heal
These tears help bring my soul relief
But don't take away what's real

Tears that finally broke the bind
Tears that set me free
Tears that cleanse my heart and mind
My tears for her - and me.

God designed the tears to flow
To help heal the hurts within.
So today I feel and see and know,
God's tears will not bring pain.

Tears to wash my hurts away
Tears to cleanse my heart
The tears are meant to help me see
That death can never part

Although I never held you
Cradled safe in my own arms,
My heart forever holds you
A love that never parts

For now, Jesus holds you
But only for a while.
For when He calls me home
I will hold you, and see your smile.

I will not forget you,
My precious baby girl
In heaven I will hold you
But not here in this world

Death can never separate
A mother from her child.
My love for you will never fade
