When evil spirits of this world send thoughts into my mind
They start the whirling, spiraling to keep my soul confined.
They say, “The Lord’s forsaken you. He does not hear your cry.
He has forgotten you.  You do not qualify.”

I call upon the Spirit and the Word and they reveal
The promises He made unto His people Israel.
He said, “I’ll not forget you.  For you I have made plans.
I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.”

“Fear not, for I’ve redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name and you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.
I am Adonai, your God, the Holy One.”
