Adopt-a-Survivor Program

We have numerous survivors who need intensive counseling, help with groceries, rent, dental assistance, etc.  The people who live in our community continue to suffer with dissociation, major depression, programming, fear, anxiety disorders and a variety of other symptoms which make it difficult for them to work a full time job.  Most of the community members work at CARE Packaging or in some aspect of C.A.R.E. ministry.  If you have wondered how to help, won't you consider a monetary gift to support one of our community members.  Please not on your check "Adopt-A-Survivor" so that you can receive a tax deduction.

Contact our offices at 231-745-0500 if you would like to donate to this program.

A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho when he fell into the hands of robbers.  They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.  A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side.  So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.  But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.  He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine.  then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him.  The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper.  "Look after him," he said, "and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have."

  Internet Website
flower.gif (936 bytes) The web page offers the same purpose of disseminating information as the 1-800-Support, but with the convenience of using a personal computer to access information anytime day or night.  It provides the most expedient method available to track up-to-date information about abuse issues.  We believe that with appropriate funding C.A.R.E., Inc. can have a consulting, interactive section available with the web page that can be appropriately staffed to disseminate information, resources, education, encouragement and comfort.

CARE Packaging is a distribution business run by survivors healing from abuse.  It is designed to help survivors transition back into the work force through a flexible work environment.

We are pleased to distribute materials for Dr. James Wilder.  His books, manuals, and video tapes are valuable materials to have for those who have had experiences with people who are dissociative because of serious trauma.

We also offer greeting cards, featuring artists Corrine and Sarah, as well as materials from Daniel Siegel, Dr. Daniel Amen, Dallas Willard, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Art Katz, Roy Schwarcz, and Jonathon Singer

You can make a tax deductible donation to CARE Packaging, as we recently received federal tax exempt status.  All donations go to providing rehabilitation and daily needs (food, clothing, housing) for adult survivors of SRA and severe trauma (and their children).
