Halloween Season Prayer

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, the sinless and holy Son of God, I acknowledge You are the creator and ruler of the universe. I ask forgiveness for how we have allowed Satan to pervert Your seasons. I renounce all evil plans associated with this Halloween season, especially October 31st. In Your grace and mercy, I pray You would do a Genesis 50:20 and turn all evil intent around for Your good.

I renounce all duplicity programming, enemy plans and confusion associated with the church's attempts to Christianize this pagan celebration. Holy Spirit, please protect, guide, educate and forgive those who try to make Halloween an innocent holiday. Help us to give up the things of this world, the fear of man and of not belonging, for ourselves and our children.

I pray for protection and healing for those who would be triggered by this season's decorations and symbols. I renounce the enemy's programming. I pray Your Spirit would stand as a screen against any evil influence that would come. I forgive the human vessels of the enemy's power, known or unknown to them and ask that you would reach them with your truth, love and salvation.

For myself and those I love, I renounce any evil ties, known or unknown, with the following
Halloween history/symbols: Druids, Celtic culture, divination, Wicca, bats, cats and black cats, spiders, broomsticks, skeletons, ghosts, goblins, cauldrons and masquerades, trick-or-treating, Jack-o-lanterns, reincarnation, bobbing for apples, the colors black and orange, the Great Rite, bonfires, divination, necromancy, witchcraft, wizardry, Harry Potter, Casper, astrology, charming, mediums and all cult practices associated with October 31st.

God, I ask that You would protect from any evil associated with Halloween and I renounce all that has gone on in generations past during this holiday to build the enemy's power and hold over people. I repent for what may have happened in my family history, and ask that You would now free all who have been influenced by those evils. Bring them Your love, healing and salvation.

In Your authority, Jesus, I come against the enemy's use of media and marketing for this season. Please block what the enemy plans. Forgive all those associated with these things and through Your Holy Spirit, convict them, show them truth, lead them to repentance and salvation, heal their hurts, mature them in You, and lead them to become discerning prayer warriors for You. Protect all those who will see the movies or become excited by Halloween activity. Draw those sitting on the fence between good and evil and by Your Spirit, lift their blindness. Allow them to discern the subliminal and overt evil lures coming at them and whether through fear or insight, cause them to seek You. Turn the tide in this country from accepting evil as innocent entertainment.

Thank You, God, that powerful though the Devil may be, he is a defeated foe! The LORD Jesus Christ at Calvary defeated him and his legion of demons. By Jesus' death and resurrection Jesus broke Satan's power and released mankind from fear and bondage. Praise God, those of us who belong to God through faith in Jesus' atoning work on the cross have the power and authority from above to thwart the attacks of the enemy. In the meantime help us not be ignorant of his devices, including the subtle ways in which he seeks to entice the innocent through days like Halloween. Father, lead us to celebrate Your Mo'edim (appointed times), and give us Your discernment and wisdom as to how to pray about and deal with the things of this world. I stand in the protection of and pray in the name of the Jesus Christ, who was born of a virgin, who was both God and man, who lived a sinless and holy life, who was crucified, dead and buried, who rose again on the third day, who now sits at the right hand of God the Father, and who will come again! Amen.
